A Book and a Chat with Jodi Ambrose

Sometimes it takes a book, no matter how short or in whatever form to bring some sense and understanding into your or others lives. We hear about people in an abusive relationship or suffering from illness or alcoholism. Then there is senselessness of some men to their woman, and visa-versa.

My guest on today’s show Jodi Ambrose has written a wonderful booklet called “Sex: How to get more of it” a guy’s roadmap to paradise in and out of the bedroom.

The book is a masterpiece in a few pages, from the twenty items to make your life into a win/win situation with your partner to the laugh out loud humor as Jodi goes into each of the items sharing what we all know but in many cases are either to blind or reluctant to see.

The booklet for it is just a small read ideal to be left in the bathroom (perhaps then your other half might remember to out the seat down … item 6… ) to be read in those small quiet moments. As Jodi shared during a truly entertaining thirty minutes, the book is being purchased by both men and woman.. The woman seem to read it first have a good laugh then leave it around for their other half to pick up and perhaps learn a lesson or two.

And ladies… you are not going to get away with this either as Jodi shared her next book is aimed at the female side of the relationship… (a good stocking stuffer for Christmas…in many ways)

One item that we never got time to chat about is the great drinking game that you can play with copies of the book at the next girls night or hen party…

I’ll let Jodi explain the rules…

Here's a great way to have a blast at your bachelorette party or other fun girlie event.

Each girl at your party gets a copy of the book. Then, you each take turns reading an item from "The List". If your significant other follows the suggestion in The List, you DRINK! The better your man, the drunker you get!

You also earn a point for each good-boy behavior he exhibits, so someone needs to keep a tally. The winner should get some kind of deliciously naughty gift with which to entice her man. Toys, lingerie, a hot sex coupon book...you name it!

One comment to this game from an aching but happy lady…

I loved it! My best friend bought the book for my bachelorette party. We had a contest using the list of 20 things to make your girl happy from the book to see who had the best boyfriend. My fiance came in second. Oh well. Now at least he'll know what to do because I gave him the book to read too. Thanks for the fun! We laughed so hard my stomach hurt and oh did we all have hangovers!"

The show was great fun as well as I hope educational, and I'm looking forward to having Jodi back on the show in november to chat about her new book, looking tat the female side.

So listen now and share an interesting and entertaining show as I spend thirty minutes sharing "A Book and a Chat with Jodi Ambrose".

A Book and a Chat with Ray Shasho

Over the last few shows I’ve had quite a few “memoir” writers; their books have been written for various reasons, therapy, the hope that the book can help others or just to provide entertainment. My guest on today’s “A Book and a Chat” firmly falls into the latter, though for him writing about his youth was a candle in his darkest hours.

Ray Shasho’s book “Check the G’s” the story of a family and the business that sustained them his childhood through early adulthood. The book is full of humor as well as snap shots of American history and music, as well as the inside secrets of his family business, originally called Chin Lung Art Gallery, though as we heard it was far from a Chinese Art Gallery.

Ray sold his first item in the store, owned by his father and uncle at the grand age of six, it was a “real call dude” pair of sunglasses. The Chin Lung Art Gallery’s inventory (electronics, jewelry, cameras, artwork, and more) was as varied as the international clientele that frequented it and the Shasho family itself headed by Ray’s Syrian Jewish father and Cuban Catholic mother. The life skills the author learned from working in his father’s store helped him to become a fearless adult with a head for business and a strong sense of family.

There are trials and problems litter the pages of “Check the G’s” (G’s are customers by the way) mixed with the antics that took place in the store while it was open for business six days a week. Many famous characters fill the pages as they did the store including baseball star Ted Williams, James Mason, Dick Gregory, Art Buchwald, Dinah Shore, Chuck Norris, Muhammad Ali, Lee Atwater and a famous actress who was asked to leave. Ray also offers firsthand accounts of the D.C. riots following Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassination, the murder of John F. Kennedy, and meeting celebrities like Muhammad Ali, Chuck Norris, and Sugar Ray Leonard.

After seven years of running one of the businesses himself, Ray closed the last family store and walked away with a full appreciation for what he had learned from the work

“Check the G’s” is a book all will enjoy as Gary Sorkin, wrote for Pacific Book Review…

“I found Check the Gs to be pure entertainment, fantastic fun and a catalyst to igniting many memories of my own life. If you have a bit of grey hair (or no hair), buy this book.”

Ray's love of music has now lead him to interviewing many famous rock artists details of which he was able to share with us during an entertaining show.

So listen now and share an interesting and entertaining show as I spend thirty minutes sharing "A Book and a Chat with Ray Shasho".

A Book and a Chat with Stuart Gustafson

My guest on today’s “A Book and a Chat” is Stuart Gustafson, author of "Missing in Mexico", the first of the Mystery Tourism Book Series.

Before Stuart retired from the corporate world in 2007, he’d flown over 1,000,000 miles to 28 different countries, he even has the US Registered Trademark Name of America’s International Travel Expert®.

Once he retired Stuart began writing in earnest, it was also natural for him to want to continue traveling once he didn't have to travel as a job.

Now when he travels, it's for fun; it's for pleasure; it's to see new places in the world. This is why he has chosen to combine his love of travel and writing is to write mystery novels set in exciting locations around the world where he likes to go.

His debut mystery novel “Missing in Mexico” is set in San Jose del Cabo at the tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula, a charming location where he has spent 2-6 weeks each year for the past eight years. This is how Stuart researches his books, by immersing himself into the culture of the area, and getting to know the people and their charm. The best compliment Stuart has received was at a local event in San Jose del Cabo and some of the residents told him that Missing in Mexico was indeed about their town and would he please consider writing another book about San Jose or at least about Cabo.

His second novel set in Sydney, Australia, is already underway, and in keeping with his pledge to make the story and its settings as authentic as possible, Stuart visited Sydney five times last year to conduct research.

Has he hinted during the show, he thinks he discovered something about the Sydney Harbor Bridge that not many people know about – and it’s something that they certainly don’t publicize… But we’ll have to read the book to find out what that is.

About “Missing in Mexico”:

Sarah Johnson is a 19-year college freshman who, along with her roommate Mary, spent an extra week in Los Cabos, Mexico after a family vacation over the Christmas break. Unexpectedly, Sarah's not on the plane back to Seattle, and her parents hire Stan, a seasoned Private Investigator, to locate her. Even with local help and some promising leads in the town of San Jose del Cabo, he's unable to find her, and he returns to Seattle to inform the parents.

Months later he receives a mysterious letter from someone who says she can help him locate Sarah, and he jumps on the next plane to Los Cabos. Will this be the lucky break he needs to find her? Or will she remain missing -- Missing in Mexico?

A Book and a Chat with John G Nelson

John G Nelson is my guest on today’s “A Book and a Chat” is a retired Air Force Master Sergeant and former Special Forces Medic. Now, the Director of Quality and Risk Management, Patient Safety, and Infection Control at a community hospital in Utah. His debut novel “Against Nature” was released on April 5th, 2011.

With everything that is going on in the world and has been for the last several years the book was almost an outlet for John and with his forces background there was obviously a lot of stuff to process either from reading or as with “Against Nature” writing it.

The book has all the trappings of a great dystopian novel, for a start it makes you think! It is an entertaining page turner, infused with a larger dose of social criticism in the spirit of Orwell or Huxley.

About “Against Nature”:

A deadly plague has struck the planet, and nobody is sure what it is. Thousands are dying every day, and everyone that is infected will die.

The United States rallies its top minds to try and combat the disease, but when research starts, the scientists are stumped. The pathogen seems to be neither bacteria, virus, or any other known organism!

One radical scientist, Serena Salus, believes that the organism is an extra-terrestrial "mite" that was brought from a recent space mission, but the U.S. government refuses to publicize this theory, telling everyone that it is a genetically engineered disease from Pakistan that was spread by terrorists. Even as Dr. Salus makes progress, her team is being targeted as anarchists and their research is kept secret.

When Dr. Salus discovers a plan that will only give the cure to the American elite, she has to make the extremely difficult choice of continuing with the research to save only the elite, or take her findings and run from a corrupt system.

The dystopia genre is very popular among YA fiction readers, especially with the success of the Hunger Games series. Against Nature is geared for the adult reader as well, in fact I can see people of all ages and reading and enjoying the book.

John is already planning a further publication in the form of his novel "Grey Suits” so look out for more news on the up and coming author.

So listen now and share an interesting and entertaining show as I spend thirty minutes sharing "A Book and a Chat with John G Nelson".

A Book and a Chat with Derrick Lin

My guest on today’s “A Book and a Chat” is Derrick Lin, who after reading Amy Chua, bestselling book: Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother decided basically enough, was enough and that one of the children who was brought up in, what Amy called the “Chinese Way” of raising children. He result is Derricks debut memoir “Tiger Mother; Son of a Bitch

In the book Derrick tells us how, as a child he was abused and tortured as a child, up until adulthood, when he was finally able to break free of his oppressive mother.

As Derrick explained.

As a Chinese American, I am supposed to be highly successful. So my mother forced me to do things no other child my age was doing. I was driven to learn the violin, piano, trumpet and drums, practice them for hours, join the school orchestra and perform in recitals (which I hated)—by threats to make me sleep outside if I did not. I was forced to attend Chinese school on Saturdays and do my homework correctly, or face severe punishment. One punishment was forcing me to kneel in a dark closet for hours.”

Derrick was not allowed to have friends, watch TV or have any sort of social networking for fear it would corrupt him. His mother would continually berate him for not being the best. During summers she would tutor him in math and would keep him working until I he all the problems right—this would often be until 2 or 3 a.m.

In writing the book there have been many ghosts that have raised their heads from locked corners of his memory, however in writing about what he went though it has also shown others that there is a way through the hell that was meant to have been a childhood.

As one reviewer wrote about “”Tiger Mother : Son of a Bitch”:

The book kept me engaged the whole time. I read and wanted to keep flipping the pages. I recommend this to book to anyone who wants to be informed about how not to act if you are a parent and realize that the way you handle and mold your child is very significant and you can ruin your child's life if you don't treat your child equally. This book shows the perspective of a child and how they can be traumatized by parents if pushed too far. I think it is a very good book that is the ultimate answer to challenge Amy Chua's book Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother and the bad things on her techniques of parenting. Highly recommended to those to want to see the other side of tiger parenting.

A Book and a Chat with Susan Petersen Avitzour

Susan Petersen Avitzour comes from a bookworm family, starting to read at the tender age of four, and she hasn’t stop since. Even before then her mother would read her stories just about every day.

Susan was today’s guest on “A Book and a Chat” sharing with us about her book and the meaning behind it, as well as some very moving poetry, all the way from Israel, where she had this very day had become a grandmother for the third time.

She has loved writing from as early as she can remember, though she is the only member of her family who writes seriously. The first story she can remember writing was in her second grade; it was called “Susan the Clown,” and was inspired by her experience of being the odd child out among my peers. She’s been doing creative writing ever since.

In 2001 her then eighteen year old daughter Timora lost the battle she had been fighting for years with leukemia. For many years Susan had been sharing on almost daily reports the ups and downs of the emotional roller coaster that her daughter Timora and her family had gone through.

Unable to touch these reports for years after the sad death of Timora, Susan eventually decided to produce the shared blogs, as well as her feelings, and some of Timor’a and her family’s poetry. These blogs eventually became her novel “And Twice the Marrow of Her Bones” a line taking from a moving poem written by her husband in Timora’s memory.

The book rather than one of bereavement, far from it there is so much more in this book, from laughter to tears and every emotion in between. As one reviewer put it…
“It is a heartfelt, honest, illuminating and ultimately uplifting book, as one follows a family’s steadfast refusal to give up, even in light of crushing odds.

Rather than write a synopsis of “And Twice the Marrow of Her Bones” I will use what Susan wrote about her book.

And Twice the Marrow of Her Bones

In my memoir, I grapple with many of the profound personal, philosophical, and spiritual questions with which bereaved parents struggle for years – if not for the rest of their lives.

Through narrative, poetry, and a personal and philosophical journal, I aim to draw my readers into my family’s world during the long, wrong years of my daughter’s illness, and into my own emotional, intellectual, and spiritual journey in their aftermath.

I address topics that range from food to fun to forgiveness, from pain to purpose to prayer – and ultimately to the challenge of affirming faith and love
in an unpredictable, and often cruel, universe.

I hope very much that this book will provide assistance and support not only to bereaved families, but to anyone facing life’s inevitable challenges and trials.
Susan finished the show with the last poem Timora wrote, something that I felt no show end music or final farewell could beat. So please listen now and share the words of this wonderful book during an interesting and hugely entertaining show as I spend thirty minutes sharing "A Book and a Chat with Susan Petersen Avitzour".

A Book and a Chat with Amy Fellner Dominy

My guest on today’s one hour “A Book and a Chat” is another member of the “Class of 2K11” the group of debut authors whose books are released in 2011.

Amy Fellner Dominy debut novel “OyMG” has come from a literary background, from those early days of short stories, and like many of the authors she speaks to, she still has many of those early efforts still on her book shelf, or hidden away to be produced into a masterpiece at a later date.

Her love of the written word lead her to career as advertising copywriter, until Amy went back to school and in 2004 she got her MFA in 2004 with an emphasis in playwriting.

Amy’s plays have been staged across the country and she’s published in both children’s plays and short stories. “OyMG” is her first teen novel, though not her last.

Amy grew up in an area of Phoenix where the only other Jewish kids in school were her brothers and sisters. She tells the story how when she was fourteen, she was fired from a babysitting job when the family found out that she was Jewish.
It was something she had never experienced before, such hate like that. At the time it made her wary, and there was a temptation to hide the part of herself you think someone might not like.

The question is how much of yourself would you be willing to hide? From that question came the creative juices behind OyMG.

About “OyMG”

Jewish girl. Christian camp. Holy moly!

Ellie Taylor loves nothing better than a good argument. So when she gets accepted to the Christian Society Speech and Performing Arts summer camp, she's sure that if she wins the final tournament, it'll be her ticket to a scholarship to the best speech school in the country. Unfortunately, the competition at CSSPA is hot-literally. His name is Devon and, whether she likes it or not, being near him makes her sizzle. Luckily she's confident enough to take on the challenge-until she begins to suspect that the private scholarship's benefactor has negative feelings toward Jews. Will hiding her true identity and heritage be worth a shot at her dream?

Debut author Amy Fellner Dominy mixes sweet romance, surprising secrets, and even some matzo ball soup to cook up a funny yet heartfelt story about an outspoken girl who must learn to speak out for herself. (from The Story Siren blog)

The book has humor, a great story and a moral; many reviewers have told Amy how it helps them understand how other people’s lives can be affected by religion. The book is sprinkled with pieces of Yiddis, Tuchus (your behind) Schlep (carry) Kvetch (to whine and complain) Nosh (to snack).

As in: “Quit your kvetching, move your tuchus and schlep in these grocery bags or you’ll get nothing to nosh"

Amy’s wish for the book is that it will help the reader realize we're all different in our own ways. And that's it's okay to speak up and speak out--to be ourselves. It's always easy to find people to tell you that you're "less than" but we should all listen to our own voices. We should celebrate our uniqueness, not hide it.

With her second book coming out next year I am sure we will hear a lot more of Amy Fellner Dominy.

So listen to an interesting and hugely entertaining show as I spend sixty minutes sharing "A Book and a Chat with Amy Fellner Dominy".

A Book and a Chat with Caridad Pineiro

On Tuesday my guest Daren Krupa told us how at the age of fifteen his English teacher asked him to write a book on the meaning of life, my guest today went one better, in fact you could say twenty seven better.

Caridad Pineiro multi award winning author, love of the written word developed when her fifth grade teacher assigned a project – to write a book that would be placed in a class lending library. She has been hooked on writing ever since.
From that early success, Caridad has gone on to produce twenty seven published novels, this after her first novel ”Long Way Home” failed to find acceptance with a publisher. That how ever did not stop this great author, whose books have been compared with the JD Robb series.

Caridad has moved from one hit series to another going from traditional romance, to being one of the forerunners of the vampire type romance books.

Her award winning titles include hits such as “Death Calls” one of the novels in the award-winning THE CALLING Vampire series, “Sins of the Flesh”, the “South Beach Chicas” series and now another new series and another hit with her latest novel “The Lost”.

About “The Lost”:

Adam Bruno is no ordinary millionaire. The heir to an ancient race possessing a dark, powerful magic, he can shapeshift and create energy. His gifts make him a living weapon and have forced him to live in seclusion. But now an inhuman force hunts down Adam-just when he finds someone who makes him feel more human than he ever imagined possible . . .

Home from combat in Iraq, Bobbie Carerra wants only peace, yet soon joins Adam in a terrifying battle against paranormal enemies who hide in plain sight. She's drawn to his strength of mind and body; he's attracted to her courage and intoxicating energy. Their scorching passion can either transport them to the heights of ecstasy or-if Adam's powers rage out of control-destroy them. But when an invisible brotherhood tightens its nets and someone Adam trusts betrays him, only a heartrending decision can save them.

The Lost is the first in the “Sin Hunter” series; the reviews she has received have been fantastic…

Wonderfully exciting and powerful. (Romance Reviews Magazine)
Piñeiro's new series will excite readers, new and old...
Utterly unique . . . Piñeiro is breaking the mold.

With praise such as she has already received you know that Caridad has another hit on her hands, as one reviewer out it…

“THE LOST is an excellent beginning to a new series that will have readers counting the days until the second Sin Hunters book is released."

A Book and a Chat with Daren Krupa

My guest today‘s "A Book and a Chat" is Daren Krupa, at the age of fifteen he was given an assignment by his English teacher, who obviously knew the potential laying within the none creative writing Daren, to write a “meaning of life” essay. As Daren said during the show, “how could a boy of fifteen have any idea about the true meaning of life?”

This did not stop Daren from going into the realms of literature as he worked as a newspaper reporter, photographer and editor.

Seventeen years ago he wrote his first and as yet unpublished novel entitled “Squaw Peak”, typing it out on an old manual typewriter, cutting and pasting until he had a completed draft.

Seventeen years later, his second and first published novel “Such a Nice Boy” was much easier to produce though as Daren shared it did take him ten years and numerous re-writes and edits.

"Such a Nice Boy" is about a man who leads a gay life because he’s afraid of his feelings for women. It’s a lifelong conversation Daren has been having with himself about sexuality. He wanted to write a contemporary gay-straight romance since my early Twenties, when he was dating women and made himself admit he liked looking at guys. The writing of the book has not only helped Daren come to terms with his life but also been somewhat of a healing process.

About “Such a Nice Boy”:

It’s the summer of 1999 in Denver. Alan Hovey is living the life he dreamed: sex with handsome, buffed, eager men. Except he isn’t gay. Made no difference until he crossed paths with female co-worker Lindsey Ronan and her infant son Morgan. He starts getting notions about Lindsey, and being a heterosexual father whenever he’s holding Morgan.

Lindsey is married and afraid of Alan because of a traumatizing incident during college.

At work Alan has become a pariah for having boldly stood up for himself. He draws the attention of Frank Lively, VP of HR, homophobic and deeply closeted. Frank tries to harass Alan into quitting.

After Lindsey verbally demolishes him while shopping for making eyes at another, Alan meets a young man who says you’re with me because you’re mad at Lindsey.
Alan becomes more confused after accidently seeing Lindsey at work with her blouse off, and displays a very obvious reaction.

The path Alan follows and the choices he makes form the heart of a boy who at age forty two becomes a man. He crawls out of a family upbringing filled with death and chooses life. His coming of age is unique and compelling.

Daren shared with us, how he is already working on his next book, which I’m sure will take a lot less than ten years to write and will provide further proof that the English teacher knew inside Daren there was a budding author waiting to share his talent with the world

So listen to an interesting and hugely entertaining show as I spend thirty minutes sharing "A Book and a Chat with Daren Krupa".

A Book and a Chat with Stephen Langford

My guest on today’s “A Book and a Chat” is Stephen Langford, who along with co-author Dr David Fett is the creator of the great new bioterrorist thriller “White Sleeper”.

Stephen is a TV and movie writer and producer of more than 150 hours of prime time television. His credits include “Family Matters,” “Malcolm and Eddie,” and the movie “Lovewrecked,” for which he was screenwriter.

Dr. David Fett is an ophthalmic plastic surgeon specializing in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery around the eye, such as removing skin cancers around the eye, fixing children born with drooped lids, accidents, etc. He holds a BS degree in applied biochemistry, an MS degree in toxicology from MIT and received his MD from Dartmouth Medical School. Fett has published numerous articles on medical topics; White Sleeper is his first work of fiction.

The two of them came together some years ago with the idea to write a thriller in the both being fans of the biological terror novels of Michael Crichton (“The Andromeda Strain”) and Robin Cook (“Coma”), so it was natural for them to conceive a novel in a similar vein. The fact that their book is now talked about at the same level as those of Crichton and Cook shows that they have indeed created a novel that many are enjoying.

About “White Sleeper”:

Osama bin Laden may be gone, but threats of terrorist attacks on the United States still remain a frightening possibility. Among the scariest scenarios is an attack using toxic biological agents, which could cause untold number of deaths throughout this country.

When Arkansas experiences a wave of rare, fatal diseases, the CDC calls in Dave Richards, a doctor with a shady past, to investigate. Richards sees this as an opportunity to clear his reputation and save his career. He joins with FBI agent Paula Mushari to investigate the seeming plague. When they think they’ve found the person responsible for the bioterrorism, the find themselves drawn deeper into a sinister pact between a white supremacist and a vengeful terrorist sect, each bent on causing mass destruction on the American populace. Richards and Mushari must race against the clock – and their own personal issues – to prevent a catastrophic plague from breaking out.

What critics and readers are saying about White Sleeper:

I found this book hard to put down, and I loved the action and the interaction between Dave and Paul. The story is believable, and the writing is great. If you’re a fan of Robin Cook, then you’ll enjoy this newcomer.” Asthepageturns.blogspot.com.

“White Sleeper is a lightning-fast-paced story about two characters trying to stop a homegrown terrorist from unleashing a deadly virus on American citizens. Those who are looking for a straightforward action story about deadly viruses won’t be disappointed.” Prettyopinionated.com

A Book and a Chat with Helen Laibach

My guest on today’s “A Book and a Chat” is Helen Laibach, always interested in writing she eventually graduated in psychology.

She quickly realized that her plans to be a “Marriage, child, and family counselor” did not suit her temperament. So instead she began a family and chose a more satisfying career as an executive assistant. Helen is an avid reader and very talented nature photographer.

She wrote her debut book “A Soul Less Broken” over eleven years ago, though after the days of rejections both in having the book published and getting an agent, the book, then under another name laid on the shelf.

This was not forgotten by her son who at least once a year asked his mother “So Mom, when are you going to publish your book?”

As times change and publishing with the development of e-books and the internet independent publishing has become much easier and much more common and that was the route she decided to take.

About “A Soul Less Broken”:

It's about the struggles and triumphs of the main character Catherine, as she recovers from being brutally attacked and left for dead.

She falls in love with the emergency room physician who treats her, but quickly realizes that she is so emotionally scarred from the attack that her only choice is to push away the one man who truly loves her.

Then just when her life is finally beginning to heal, she learns that her dearest friend has terminal cancer. So it's about love, loss, the enduring strength of friendship between women, and the power of love.

At the end of the day, love really can overcome anything.

As “Pacific Book Reviews” put it…

"... In Laibach's skillful hands, the psychological impacts are brought home in a frightening way. Its characters will touch readers at a deep level. Yes, this book is also a love story, but certainly not in the conventional sense. It will haunt you long after you turn the final page..."

As we learned during the show, a follow up novel “A Soul to be Forgiven” is already underway and I’m sure we’ll hear a lot more from this talented author.

So listen to an interesting and hugely entertaining show as I spend thirty minutes sharing "A Book and a Chat with Helen Laibach".

A Book and a Chat with Kelly McClymer

My guest today is Kelly McClymer, from early days putting on and directing plays with her three younger sisters, she was inspired by stories such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, her favorite book being the “The Complete Tales of the Brothers Grimm” and her favorite story as we discussed being “The Six Swans".

She finally followed this love of writing through with her first book “The Fairy Tale Bride” (see Brother Grim were never far away), the first book in her “Once Upon A Wedding” series of romance stories. This early success was followed by several more in the series, such as “The Unintended Bride”, “ The Star Crossed Bride” and “The Next Best Bride” to name but a few. Yes they all had “Bride” in the title, but this was soon to change.

From the romance novels Kelly change tack and started a humorous YA series starting with “The Salem Witch Tryouts” which is sort of a mix between “Bewitched” and “Get It On”, this successful book was followed by “She’s A Witch Girl” and “Competition’s a Witch”.

At the same time an idea Kelly had for a “chicklit” book aimed at adults turned itself into a YA novel called “Getting To Third Date”.

About “Getting To Third Date”:

Katelyn Spears is a firm believer in the two-date rule. First dates are so awkward; every guy deserves a second chance. But a third? Not unless he's got serious Romeo potential.

Enter Tyler. Tyler thinks Katelyn's rule is too harsh. He dares her to go back through her Little Pink Book and grant a third date to all the two-date duds. Oh, and she should report back to the whole school via her newspaper column. Standing by her policy (and determined to prove Tyler wrong), Katelyn makes a few phone calls. But will any of her old flames rekindle a romance?

This first was followed by another change in direction with “Must Love Black”.

About “Must Love Black”:

NANNY FOR 10-YR-OLD TWINS. MAINE COAST. OWN ROOM & GENEROUS SALARY. MUST LOVE BLACK. “Must love black?” Sounds like a coffee-loving, seclusion-seeking goth girl's dream job. Philippa isn’t fazed by the fog-enshrouded mansion on a cliff, the weirdest twins on the planet, or even the rumors about ghosts, ‘cause when she meets the estate’s hot gardener, Philippa’s pretty sure she’s found her dream boy, too. Too bad Geoff’s already taken…by a girl whose wardrobe is head-to-toe pink. Still, Philippa can’t get Geoff out of her head. What will it take to lure him to the dark side?

Kelly shared with us how she is re-editing and re-launching many of her book in E-format, as well as finally perhaps that adult version of “Getting to Third Date
