A Book and a Chat with C.L.Talmadge

As has been said on previous shows some people have been born to write and my guest on today’s “A Book and a Chat” is one such person.

C.L. Talmadge at the age of 13 new she wanted to write a novel, however at that time she was not ready to do so. She did however go on to create a career as a professional writer, when she became associate editor of The Suffolk County News. She has since been a fulltime staff writer at or freelanced for numerous media that include Adweek, Business Week, the Dallas Times Herald, Forbes, the International Herald Tribune, The New York Times, and Reuters America, among many others.

A couple of failed attempts to start the dreamed of novel came and went but her dream would not go away. After a period in her own life that produced a tremendous self-discovery, spiritual awakening, and profound emotional and spiritual healing and growth. She came to realize that the characters were showing her glimpses of lives were not just characters wanting to be part of her creation, but insights into her own past lives.

Suddenly one morning in 1998 she woke up knowing the story was there to write. Fourteen months later she had the rough drafts of not only "The Vision", but also of the second book, "Fallout".

That was the start of the Green Stone of Healing series, which now amounts to four books, "Outcast" being the latest in the series, with number five in the editing stage and number six already clamoring at her sense to be have its story told.

About “Green Stone of Healing” series (Taken from thegreenstoneofhealing.com)

What happens when politics, passion, and piety collide? The resulting global cataclysm obliterates a mighty nation and nearly destroys the world.

Welcome to the website of the Green Stone of Healing® speculative epic. This saga is a unique blend of action-adventure, alternate history, palace intrigue, the paranormal, and undying romance.

This serialized fiction chronicles how state backing for an exclusionary religion leads to worldwide destruction that sweeps away all traces of a powerful island country called Azgard.

Four generations of strong-willed women inherit a mysterious green gem revealed to mend broken bones and broken hearts, protect against human and natural assaults, and render its wearers undetectable.

These courageous protagonists use their jewel to offer a loving, inclusive alternative to theocrats who persecute those who do not look like them or share their beliefs.

Readers who become fond of these characters will be delighted that they reincarnate on their spiritual sojourns, affirming that not even death can divide lovers and loved ones (or enemies).

A Book and a Chat with Terrance Aym

There are so many mysteries in our world, or even one might say this world as many people, including Terrance Aym, my guest on todays “A Book and a Chat” believe we are just a small dot in the Multiverse. In his book “Mysteries Of The Multiverse: 25 True Stories From Time And Space” Terrance goes into some of the question and strange incidents of planet earth.

His book has been called “Eclectic, dramatic, exciting..." and includes amongst the twenty five stories items such as…The horror that drove a British sailor mad… The amazing truth about an American base on the Moon…The astonishing story of America’s war against a race of giants… How the genius Nikola Tesla almost destroyed the world…All about a deadly time vortex erupting in Antarctica…Why a Russian engineer claims he has a working time machine…Thomas Edison’s fantastic attempt to speak with ghosts…The evidence for terrifying, giant five foot spiders in the Congo… A Russian spy trawler’s eerie encounter with a deadly ghost ship…and 16 more otherworldly reports that truly are stranger than fiction!

Terrance has stated he rights for two reasons…the first is to entertain and inform his readers; the second, writing gives him personal pleasure. With “Mysteries Of The Multiverse: 25 True Stories From Time And Space” you can add “make you think” to that list.

As one reviewer put it…

This book presents sets of occurrences/encounters from each of four areas: Time, Space, Fiction and Science. The author tells tales of dinosaurs making modern day appearances, blood raining down from the sky, and a ghost making an appearance at a local airport (I read this last one right before going to bed. Not recommended!), among many others.

The author provides links and citations for each story, so that you can read further about the incidents presented if they interest you. In case you are thinking that the author is one of those people who believe every story they hear, the he also tells of myths/legends that have no proof of occurring, or have been debunked.

A Book and a Chat with Angela Hart

How safe is your computer?
Do you think the firewall and security functions keep you save and all your data?

There might be laws in place now and a lot more information to help make your online and offline life more secure, but we are still always hearing about identity and internet theft.

This is in 2012 but what about seven or eight years ago, before there were laws, before there the cyber policing that there is now?

My guest on today’s “A Book and a Chat” is Angela Hart, in her book “Through Angela’s Eye” she tells the story of what happened to her and what she did to fight back. A fight that led to over 4,000 cases and over 64,000 arrests!

About “Through Angela’s Eyes” (In Angela’s own words)

Identity theft is the number one crime in the United States right now. Read this intriguing story on how I tracked down those who had stolen my identity as well as the identities of millions of others. There are many things people can do to protect identity theft from occurring whether online or just in daily activities. Read how this landmark case, Operation Firewall changed the financial industry and computer technology as we know it today.

Through Angela's Eye is the true, inside story of Operation Firewall. After a series of unfortunate changes in circumstances, my life took an unwelcomed turn. What started out as my personal battle against those terrorizing me by stealing my identity through my personal computer turned into the largest case of identity theft in United States history! Although the computer hackers caused me financial distress, once they threatened my life, I became angry and determined to get justice. Little did I realize that my journey would lead to the exposing of corruption within our own government up to the vice president and president of the United States and continued right up to the United Nations! Once the first domino fell, a series of events began to unfold.

Operation Firewall began in July 2003 as an investigation into access device fraud before expanding into an investigation of global credit card fraud and identity theft fraud. This case led to the inception of many laws being placed on the books to prosecute those who were perpetuating the crimes. The removal of spyware, malware, and malicious web sites that were trafficking in stolen identities, spam, hacking and even pornography are some of the positive results.

My account of “Operation Firewall” will make Watergate look like child’s play. It has led to over 4,000 cases and well over 64,000 arrests as of December 2005. The ramifications of this case will go on for years to come. As a result of the investigation, over $260 billion per year is being saved by taking these criminals off the streets. It was a war that was fought without weapons but used computers coupled with a woman’s intuition and common sense!

The first chapter of the book deals with my experience with purchasing a web builder and setting up an e-commerce web site. The online blog documents the ordeal in detail. When I discovered that they had stolen my identity, I listed all of the steps someone needs to do to stop the identity theft. Stealing my identity was not enough for them, but they were also stealing the identities of those who were making purchases through the website. Not only was the website designed so that they had a view of all the credit information someone inputs online to place an order, my computer had been compromised.

Next I go into how I figured out my computer had been hacked and who was behind it. By exposing why, who, and how they accomplished this, it helps the reader to discern what signs to look for. Thinking I was protected by a firewall and antivirus program was a false sense of security since my original computer guy had installed the original Trojan and key logger.

Two chats with the hackers are in the book. I put them in for a few reasons. First, I wanted to keep the interest of young people. In the first chat I was able to get one of the hackers to expose and admit to what he had done a few years earlier. In the second chat, I did to the hacker what he did to me except I did not threaten his life. The lesson was you don't know for sure who you are talking to online, nor do you know what they are involved in.

The one who hacked my computer was the same one who hacked T-Mobile and stole Paris Hilton's address book, the Bank of America thefts, the MasterCard/Visa 20 million addresses, Citibank, etc. Over 4000 cases started as a result. The book is still tying into current events.

The story takes a turn when my computer guy and I are the only 2 people who know about the File. Without us in the picture, they would be able to backdate it to try to use it as the excuse of why the US went to war. I expose those within the government who were involved in the attempted cover up as well as exposing the news stories that were altered to try to scare us into backing off the case and accepting their so-called offer of the witness protection program when in reality it would be only to protect their secrets and we were going to be removed from our lives. Instead, they were all arrested and sitting behind bars.

All 48 of the original hackers involved in Operation Firewall have all been arrested and convicted. This case let to over 4,000 cases and 64,000 arrests as of December 2005. All of the threats and apologies were done in writing. I use documentation throughout the book and link it together with the story, all in chronological order. It exposed a world-wide internet mob ring that was bent on targeting people with e-commerce websites as well as secretly spying on people in the privacy of their own homes through their webcams.

The letter to my cable company was also included since they were involved. The threats from the government as well as the apologies were also published since I had these in writing. Some of the names and locations were changed.

Angela’s goal is to help educate people about identity theft/cyber bullying by showing them how and why they did this and how to get them to expose themselves. The book I believe is a must for all and is an eye opener for everybody who uses the internet. I highly recommend this book

A Book and a Chat with Jerry Pollock

Jerry Pollock has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in pharmacy from the University of Toronto, he heard gods voice in twice in a couple of weeks 1982 which he kept quiet for ten years until he heard the voice gain in January of 2009 which started his life down a new road.

This second reception followed by several visual miracles which he wrote about in his first book “Divinely Inspired: Spiritual Awakening of a Soul” a tale of one man's story to lift himself out of the despair of bipolar disorder, near suicide, neurotic behavior, and scientific cheating to emerge on a path to God and His Ten Commandments. The author's transformation from a damaged and ravaged soul to merging into God's Light is seen through unusual miracles of divine intervention.

This was followed by a religious fiction novel “Messiah Interviews: Belonging to God” which received reviews like "A fascinating Messianic journey. Gently challenges the soul to seek a Higher purpose. Richly written and admirably candid."

After this and with motivation from his wife he completed a religious thriller “Gog & Magog: The Devil's Descendants". Which is a Biblical fantasy thriller describing Satan's plots to bring about Armageddon through manipulating the world into a war of the means that has not been seen before.

His wife Marcia passed from this world on March 18, 2011, from liver cancer, however she has not left her soul mate Jerry, and over a period of time has made contact with him, and working with him has enabled the publication of “Putting God Into Einstein's Equations: Energy of the Soul”

About “Putting God Into Einstein's Equations: Energy of the Soul”

Merging the Physical World With the Spiritual World

Putting God Into Einstein's Equations: Energy of the Soul is a provocative and compelling book that weaves together empirical, scientific observation, academic research, and theoretical and theological considerations, bolstered by revelatory, first-hand testimony bearing witness to the existence of the Divine soul in both the physical and spirit worlds.

Equally explored and discussed are practical first hand experiential techniques for hypnotic-spiritual world regression and directing spiritual energy and using light to alleviate negative forces. Above all else, Putting God Into Einstein's Equations seeks to advance an awareness and comprehension of God, drawing upon points of reference as diverse as Qigong and yoga to the word of rabbinical scholars.

A Book and a Chat with Farrokh Nazerian

Farrokh Nazerian was born in Iran, lived in England and currently resides in Santa Barbara, he has been a journalist, editor, poet, entrepreneur, art collector, developer, and above all, he has been a lifelong student of “knowledge. Now he has also been a guest on “A Book and a Chat”.

His novel “The Last Person Who Saw Farrokh” is in fact a four act play which is well served to show Nazerian’s own passionate exploration of the great questions that haunt Man in his endless search for identity and answers to the big questions of life.

He describes his play’s essence as “Man’s search for salvation and his struggle to find a meaning and purpose for his life. It was also an attempt to `see’ Farrokh, myself.”

The Last Person Who Saw Farrokh” addresses the concept of the Abarmard. To change the world we don’t understand and we are trapped in, “one has to change oneself and recreate oneself as a New Man, a Superior Man, the one that the ancient Persian Prophet Zarathustra teaches us to become, the Abarmard,” Nazerian says. Farrokh declares that everyone “regardless of our race, our gener, our physical or economic condition” can become Abarmard, who is the “Man of Knowledge.”

Nazerian explains that transformation of Man from the “Ape of Reason” to the “Superman of Will” is existential. Abarmard dows not become superior to other men, but only to “himself,” a New Man who will be capable to make direct connection with Life and to “see” the landscape of infinity.

Farrokh tries to explain that concept:

Farrokh: Abarmard is the future of man. He is what man is meant to become … To become Abarmard or a Superior Man is not a luxury; it is a necessity … The only way to achieve equality and to gain our freedom and salvation is to actualize our potential!

As one reviewer put it…

“The Last Person Who Saw Farrokh” invites one to review the play of one's own life. All of us are looking for Farrokh, and will ultimately be frustrated in that search. The secret may be to become him. Wonderful!

A Book and a Chat with Thomas Laresca

The show today showed that one does not have to write a might tome to share with the reader important and helpful information that can only help those reading the finished product.

Thomas Laresca a high school and college athlete with a career professional career as a stock trader was living his American dream in Boca Raton, Florida with a wife, family and beautiful home when his world was shattered.

He was as we heard during the program wrongly arrested and abused by the police right outside his own house in a gated community. An event that not only left him, in intensive care, due mainly to being maced for thirty minutes while being pinned down, handcuffed and hogtied, but as we heard he actually died and started on the trip towards the light.

While recovering from this incident and fighting for justice Thomas was diagnosed with with cancer in three parts of his body. The next step was to go on a course of Chemo, however upon his first visit, he was told his blood count was too low, and the therapy could not continue, giving him just a possible three months to live.

His faith which had previously been severely tested now was tested once again, Thomas however not only found the strength from his often quiet praying and reading the New Testament, but his body started to self heal enough that the therapy was able to continue and he is now cancer free.

This though with all the issues was enough to start Thomas on the slippery slide into depression, something that again, with his faith and inner strength he was able to overcome.

Now in his book “I Want To Help: My Story About Cancer, Depression and God” he is able to share his own experiences and thoughts with many other who are facing their own issues.

The book is not a large book, but is one that will help and aid many readers.

As Thomas says…

“If reading it can help just one person, I’ll be happy.”

A Book and a Chat with Robert JR Graham

Robert JR Graham has over the last 20 years focused on self-development and personal mastery, dedicating his life to uncovering the deeper truths within us all. This has included research into various topics such as quantum physics, eastern mysticism, psychology, philosophy, martial arts, and many other subjects leaving no stone unturned.

Taking this experience and interweaving it with his own personal adventure of self-discovery, vivid dreams, and unique life experiences Robert has produced the first book in what promises to be a fast paced fiction series called “The Seventh Journey”.

About “The Seventh Journey” : (taken from Robert’s web site)

Toronto, ON – Seventh Journey is a thrill-seeking adventure that will leave you questioning what you really know and believe about the reality we find ourselves consumed with. In the series’ first self-titled book, Graham weaves a fantasy story line that illustrates the power of self-realization.

In Seventh Journey readers meet Jacob Cross, a staff scientist at Netex, an advanced research firm with more than one secret agenda. Using a sound wave technology called Auditum, the nefarious research firm develops a mind-altering headset with the power to control minds and even hurl users into a different dimension.

Cross had been deeply involved in developing the headset and was lead to believe the technology would serve various medical applications. Now terrified that his invention will be used to enslave millions, Jacob sends himself through the dimensional portal. But will he be able to stop the firm’s devious plan?

Recipient of the coveted Editor’s Choice and Rising Star Awards on behalf of Publisher iUniverse.”

The response so far to this first book in the series has been really good, comments such as “I got hooked in the story and now I can't wait for the next book” and “found while I was reading, the narrative came to life in my head which kept making me turn the pages” are sprinkled amongst the reviews.

One reviewer wrote…

Seventh Journey is an incredible story of Jacob Cross, a researcher who wakes up with limited memory. Originally Cross is working on a cure for insomnia, or so he thought, but those employing his research have other plans for his work. They want Cross to develop a form of mind control that would give them a tool they believe will allow them to control the masses. This book introduces alternate universes or realms where Jacob meets Tamara but when he returns to his own realm he cannot remember clearly if his trip to the alternate universe was a dream or reality. And to add to the chaos of his limited memory he is also a suspect in a murder. This was a fantastic creative addition to the sci-fi genre and I am beyond excited to follow Cross' adventures further.

Well with the second book already almost completed and due out next year, readers will soon get their wish.

A Book and a Chat with Mar Preston

Today was special “A Book and a Chat" being the 500th show and it was fitting that the guest I had not only kept us laughing but proved yet another interesting and entertaining visitor to the radio show.

Mar Preston has lived a pretty eventful live, when her previous jobs include picking grapes in the Beaujolais fields and daffodils in Eureka, California, where she also sold Fuller Brush door to door, cleaned motel rooms, cracked crab and filleted fish. Her “what if” view on life and imagination developed through short stories until finally after seeing some police monitoring a march she was taking part in the idea for a detective story was born.

Her first book “No Dice” introduces us to melting pot that is Santa Monica as well as Police Detective Dave Mason and Ginger McNair. The knowledge she shows within this real who done it has been remarked about in many rave reviews.

I am totally shocked that this is the author’s FIRST novel! It is such a fast paced who-dun-it, that I would have thought she had 5 or 6 books under her belt! Guess being a creative writing teacher really DOES give you the writing chops! You will be hooked from the first chapter of the tight story.

Her characters are lively, true to life and you can’t beat real life for giving you an excellent backdrop to base a story on! The story has lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Even if you guess who the murder suspect is before the end, you’ll be flipping the pages quickly to see how they get caught! You’ll also be hoping there will be another book to follow- and there will be… If you’re looking for a new voice in the police procedural genre, check it out...

The success of this first book leads to “Rip Off” and more of Detective Dave Mason.

About Rip-Off

High-tech burglary and murder are bad for business in the upscale, tourist-destination beach city of Santa Monica with its leftist politics, rich homeowners, and huge homeless population.
Bad for Detective Dave Mason of the Santa Monica Police Department.

A deadbeat burglar has been found in the upscale Santa Monica beach condo of a playboy studio exec. The dead body must link up with a string of high-tech burglaries, and the Chechens Mason keeps meeting must link up with each other somehow, but how?

The investigation leads him down mean streets into the dark world of embezzlement and an explosion that almost kills him. The stakes rise as the investigation send Mason to the Hollywood Russian community where he is warned off by the FBI and Homeland Security. A bungled take down results in two murders of key informants. Fingers are pointed. Mason is outranked and the Department blamed.

While Mason brings an international whodunit to an end, restoring his own and the Department’s reputation, he finds his relationship with his community activist girlfriend teetering on the edge.

As Mar shared with us a third Dave Mason book is on the way ash she herself wants to know what happens next to Dave and Ginger.

Meanwhile there is a new “standalone” novel “Payback” soon to hit the shelves.

A California mountain village explodes with the news of the beheading of a popular mayor. But we’re all such nice people here in our little paradise, aren’t we, people ask?

It’s up to Sheriff’s Homicide Detective Dex Stafford to discover who of all these nice people has a dark motive. The village’s Patrol Officer, Holly Seabright, turns out to be a helpful, and attractive, ally in the dangerous unraveling of this fast-paced story.

As a reviewer said…

“Her in-depth research into police work, how the police think and function; the story itself which kept me spellbound to the surprising end. Love her character development. A must for all lovers of mystery.

I for one agree with that and I could not be more pleased to have Mar Preston as a guest on this 500th show.

A Book and a Chat with Jack Whitsel

I enjoy reading Fantasy novels and amongst my favorite authors of such books is Terry Brooks, when I started reading about the writing of today’s guest Jack Whitsel, it reminded me very much of his Shannara series so you can guess I could not wait to get Jack as a guest on my show.

Jack has always been a storyteller from an early age creating stories pertaining to my STAR WARS action figures and Micronaughts. It was not committed to writing a novel until his sons were born. They really awakened the creative spirit within, and hisfirst book is dedicated to them. Mix with that forte for telling of stories along with his love of mediaeval history has lead to “Shadows of Kings” the first book in the Dragon Rising Series.

About “Shadows and Kings”:
(taken from examiner.com)

Steel and sorcery clash as the Harhn incursion sweeps through the Hugue. Mankind faces its greatest peril without the Order Knights of legend to defend them. Crusading deep in the frontier, the Order is unaware of the savage beasts threatening their homeland as the Hugue realms muster their armies for war.

Between a cunning Harhn sorcerer, and an alliance forged with the decadent Darkfey, the horde threatens to extinguish the domains of men. Only Lord Baudouin and Lady Lucia, a Dragon Maiden from the Order, stand in the enemy’s path. One must find the strength to unify the realms. The other must discover the strength within her, while coming to terms with the agendas of her Order. But only together will there be any hope to repel the onslaught, and preserve the future for a mysterious girl they do not know.

It is not just me who thinks this could be the first on a classic series of fantasy novels, as one reviewer put it…

This is a great fantasy book and especially enjoyable for people like me who only dabble in fantasy. It has the creative elements of a Tolkien world with the more human, gritty and medieval elements of a George R.R. Martin book. You'd never think this is the author's first novel. The writing is refreshingly fluid, the character development is fantastic and the storyline picks up speed at a perfect rate. It ends just as you're completely engaged and leaves you anxious for the next installment!

As a person who was raised on Tolkien I am sure this kind of review meant a lot to Jack, and I’m equally sure we will hear a lot more of the name “Jack Whitsel”.

A Book and a Chat with Christopher Profeta

Catching up on a couple of show I missed from being sick, I am glad to say I have Christopher Profeta author of “Live in Pieces” a set of three stories that fall together beautifully to show that we are never too old to come of age.

Chris is a stay at home father dad who teaches writing at nights and weekend at a local community college. Being a full time parent, like the character in the book it has been a struggle for him to find the time to write while taking care of his two young children. The book however brings together some of these thoughts plus a few ideas into a three story , each one written in a different tense, everything he has wanted to say for a long time, master piece.

About “Live in Pieces”: (Taken from Jeanz Book Reads N Reviews)

Life in Pieces," tells the story of an unemployed stay-at-home-dad who wakes up one morning and reads the paper only to find out he is running for congress. The unlikely candidate's thoughts serve as a pointed satire of politics and the economy, as well as a moving love story about the strength and importance of family.

In the second "piece" of the story, Michael Langley, a college freshman, struggles to find his place in a new setting that doesn't make much sense to him. When he finally meets a group of friends that make him feel at home, he realizes that if he is to build a life with what might be the woman of his dreams, he'll have to give up everything he thought he ever wanted.

And somewhere, a crazy old man couldn't care less about either of these stories. This last "piece" follows two old lovers who have figured out a way to ignore the struggles of the world around them and be comforted only by their love as they reach the end of their earthly lives together, and resolve the conflicts of their past.

In "Life in Pieces," all these stories come gracefully together to show that we are never too old to come of age.

A Book and a Chat with Gary Grossman

Can you remember the early Saturday morning TV shows? Did you listen to the news from far off places on an old valve radio? The guest on today’s “A Book and a Chat” did both of those one he has written about and the other lead him down the path that would produce numerous awards including the prestigious Governor's Emmy Award for their USA Network special, "Healing the Hate" and an Emmy for Best Informational series for “Wolfgang Puck” for Food Network.

But for Gary Grossman it goes back to those early days listening to that short wave radio and watching the Saturday TV shows. He started at the age of 15 as a disc jockey at WHUC, his local radio station in Hudson, New York before going spreading his wings in television. Now along with Robb Weller he forms “Weller/Grossman Productions” , a prolific documentary and service and information television production company that have produced more than 6,000 programs.

His early days have not been forgotten and he has produced two nonfiction books “Superman Serial to Cereal” and “Saturday Morning TV”. Now this talented creator has gone into the fiction world creating the first two books of a Trilogy which some call “Political Thriller” but he prefers “Political Reality”

About “Executive Actions” and “Executive Treason” (Taken from Writers and Authors)

EXECUTIVE ACTIONS” and “EXECUTIVE TREASON” have just come out as a pair of eBooks.

The books deal with Russian sleeper cell spies still working in the U.S. and a 30-year plot designed to infiltrate the highest levels of U.S. government and bring down the presidency.

The underlying background is real…very real right down to the institution that the Russian spies attended and a coup attempt that parallels an actual plan to unseat Franklin Roosevelt in 1933.

There’s a master assassin and a terrorist who has a personal back-story that drives his machinations.

Gary’s novels are set in today’s world, playing off the news, the media and characters that will seem very familiar to readers.

These first two books will be followed later this year by “EXECUTIVE COMMAND.”

If you like thrill a minute novels full of twists and turns full of suspense and powerfully written then the books of my guest today Gary Grossman are for you.

A Book and a Chat with Dr Steven R Feldman

My guest today is Dr Steven R Feldman is a professor of dermatology, pathology, and public health sciences at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After taking a bachelor’s degree with a focus in chemistry at the University of Chicago he went onto to study dermatopathology with a mission is to improve the care of patients with skin disease. Dr. Feldman’s chief clinical interest is psoriasis.

After over 400 articles in peer-reviewed journals and giving over 600 invited lectures to dermatology groups and organizations, Dr Feldman has taken his experiences and produced and almost biographical book “Compartments: How the Brightest, Best Trained, and Most Caring People Can Make Judgments That are Completely and Utterly Wrong.”

In Compartments, readers journey into conflicts in healthcare and other groups and organizations, uncovering strange behaviors and hidden truths. These stories explain how separations and borders cause conflict between groups of people:

First, there are things in other groups that we don’t see;
Secondly, there are things we do see that we shouldn’t trust;
Thirdly, our perceptions are controlled by the context in which we make observations.

Readers will learn:
• Why medicines stop working
• How tanning beds are addictive
• Why some doctors appear clueless and uncaring to their peers
• How people in the health insurance industry and drug companies aren’t all “bad”
• How people in other countries are more like Americans than we are led to believe

Dr. Feldman wrote Compartments for people tired of animosity between groups, for business leaders who want to better understand their customers’ perspectives or reduce tension between divisions within their company, and also for book enthusiasts who want something thought provoking to discuss.

The People’s Pharmacy calls Compartments “a brilliant analysis of why doctors and patients so often misunderstand each other. The principles Dr. Feldman describes apply broadly in many areas beyond medicine.”

“Provocative and often brilliant,” is how Michael Sugrue, Ph.D., Professor of History and Chairman of the History Department at Ave Maria University, describes the book.

“Dr. Feldman courageously applies his paradigm of conceptual ‘compartments’ beyond medicine to contemporary political conflicts, searching for new, more hopeful and productive ways of engaging with previously intractable conflicts. Regardless of occupational or political loyalties, all will benefit from reading Compartments.”

While based on medical experiences the same views and concepts can relate to anybodies work place as well as their own life.

A Book and a Chat with Linda Ferguson

My guest on today’s “A Book and a Chat” is author, speaker, coach, and seminar leader to support people leading a joyful and awakened spiritual life, Linda Ferguson.

With life as it is these days seemingly taking you from one crisis to another it is hard to “look on the bright side of life” as Monty Python would say. However with Linda’s books, weekly blogs, workshops and presentations she is able to teach you to do just that, walk the path of love rather than hate and negativity.

Kinda is the author of two books, “The Path for Greatness – Work as Spiritual Service” which she wrote just over ten years ago in which Linda is able to help with the understanding of how to bring the spiritual side of our lives to the office on a daily basis. She shows, irrespective of one's particular religious credo, how to tap that often neglected side of one's persona and how to be a complete person.

Now using her experiences and what she has learned following the learning’s of personal spiritual practice includes daily prayer and meditation, Sufi Dances of Universal Peace, Integral Yoga, Native American Sweat Lodges and other Earth-based ceremonies. She has produced a new book “Staying Grounded in Shifting Sand
