YA Month - "A Book and a Chat with Heidi R. Kling"

January is YA Radio month on A Book and a Chat, with special guest throughout the month, not only authors but bloggers as well.

Today's guest on a book and a chat was author Heidi R Kling, whose book "SEA" comes out in June. While I knew a large number of people wanted to listen and talk to Heidi little did I know just how many.

The show was full of questions either from the chat room or from people dialing in. Be it half asleep bloggers, family members, fellow writers or a neighbor Heidi had not spoken to for many years, all wanted to chat to and ask question of the fabulous author.

During the show and the questions we not only learned about Heidi and her book, but where she got the inspiration from to start writing, what gave her the idea for "SEA" even to the book she is currently working on.

A wonderful guest, Heidi handled each question or phone call without a slip, providing much incite into the writing and story of SEA but also into Heidi herself.

From the time the book took to write to the work on the books enigmatic cover, the show had it all.

I would not only like to thank Heidi for making this show the special event it was but also those who dialed in or just listened, people from 4 continents were part of today's audience and that's just the ones I know of.

As normal the show went by way to quick, an hour of entertainment covering many items that will be of interest to all ages.

To find out more listen to "YA Month - A Book and a Chat with "Heidi R. Kling"" a fun and entertaining hour about Heidi and her writing.

YA Month - "A Book and a Chat with Sharon - Sharon Loves Books and Cats"

January is YA Radio month on A Book and a Chat, with special guest throughout the month, not only authors but bloggers as well.

If you are an author looking for a subject that would make a great YA book, my guest on "A Book and a Chat" today has a story line idea for you. Any body who knows Sharon from "Sharon Loves Books and Cats" or has visited her blog will tell you, that for her a book about "Zombie Kittens" would receive over 5 purrs... More about that later. Sharon is a great blogger, another of the people I call the "Sham-Wow" of YA literature.

So what is it about the purrs?
Keeping in the "cat" format Sharon explains how she uses a "purr' system to rate the books she reads and reviews. From a lowly "one purr... bad but would make great cat litter" to the top and only rarely given "5 purrs...almost as good as cat nip"

During a once again very enjoyable show, Sharon shares with us some of her favorite books, and others she is looking forward to reading. How she reviews books and the fact she's not afraid to blog that for her a book just did not reach the purr crescendo even those others have raved about it.

So why not sit back and enjoy tonight's show "A Book and a Chat with Sharon from Sharon Loves Books and Cats Blog".

YA Month - "A Book and a Chat with Jessica - Chick Lit Teens Blog"

January is YA Radio month on A Book and a Chat, with special guest throughout the month, not only authors but bloggers as well.

When I am lucky enough to get a YA Blogger on my show as a guest, I sometimes ask them why they started blogging. My guest today started because of her love of the three "R's" though in her case it's "Reading, Writing and Ranting". This can all be found at the home of today's special guest on YA MONTH - "A Book and a Chat", Jessica who writes in the blog "Chick Lit Teens" another of the people I call the "Sham-Wow" of YA literature.

Though we never found out about Jessica's love of the Gilmore girls, nor why she might want to color her hair pink (you'll have to hunt for that information). We did learn much from this great young blogger. including how she started blogging, and the thrill of receiving a request for her first review.

Jessica chatted about some of the books from 2009 she'd really enjoyed and a few titles she is looking forward to reading in 2010.

Covers and trilogies, blogs and interviews all were covered in this entertaining and educational thirty minutes.

Though she is very secretive about her own writing, which she completed on the last day of 2009, she did share that it's received a favorable review... so keep looking... you never know!

So why not sit back and enjoy tonight's show "A Book and a Chat with Jessica from Chick Lit Teens Blog".

YA Month - "A Book and a Chat with Sarah MacLean"

January is YA Radio month on A Book and a Chat, with special guest throughout the month, not only authors but bloggers as well.

So what do you get if you cross the daughter of a spy with Jane Austen?

One answer might be Sarah MacLean my guest on today's "A Book and a Chat".

Sarah was one of the authors that many wanted to be included in my YA Radio Week, her book "The Season" has been one of the most popular YA novel over the last year.

During the show, Sarah shares with us, all about "The Season" and how she came about writing this YA Historical Romance novel. Rave reviews are littered around the net, and the questions put to her from both readers and fellow authors showed just how much this book is being enjoyed.

We learned during the show about not only Sarah's love of the Regency period of history, but also her knowledge of the time, which be it from the langauge, the dress of the characters just enhances this "The Season". Much to the delight of many listeners we found out that this book will spread into a Trilogy, bringing back many of the much loved characters that have appeared in this first novel.

Sarah also shared with us about her new book "Nine Rules to break when Romancing a Rake" the first of a more adult romance series due to be released in March, and already much anticipated.

With more books due hopefully throughout 2010 and into 2011 Sarah's writings are sure to please readers of all ages who enjoy a historical novel full of great characters and romance sprinkled with enough humor and mystery to keep the reader wanting to turn the pages.

As normal the show went by way to quick, an hour of entertainment covering many items that will be of interest to all ages.

YA Month - "A Book and a Chat with Kristi - Story Siren"

January is YA Radio month on A Book and a Chat, with special guest throughout the month, not only authors but bloggers as well.

As we move into the second half of my YA Radio month I am very pleased to have a return visit to the show by one of my favorite YA Bloggers. My guest on today's YA MONTH - "A Book and a Chat" is Kristi, author of the very popular "The Story Siren" blog.

as normal when Kristi is a guest on the program we chatted about numerous different aspects of YA literature, from some of the great authors and books both from 2009 and looking forward to in 2010, to bloggers who are actually writing books themselves.

Interestingly Kristi raised the issue of the lack of true trilogies that are coming out these days, and I'm sure she'll be sharing her views on this subject on her blog pages very shortly.

We chatted about some of guests that have been on the show so far this month and those still to appear on "A Book and Chat". As always Kristi was only to willing to help and answer questions put to her, as well as sharing with the listeners about her "2010 Debut Author Challenge".

As normal the show went by way to quickly, covering many items that will be of interest to all.

YA Month - "A Book and a Chat with Michelle Zink"

January is YA Radio month on A Book and a Chat, with special guest throughout the month, not only authors but bloggers as well.

My guest on today's one hour special YA MONTH - "A Book and a Chat" is Michelle Zink, one authors asked by many to be part of the YA Radio Week.

Michelle's book "PROPHECY of the SISTERS" has proved hugely popular with YA readers not just in America but all round the world, indeed the book has now been published in over twenty countries.

During the show Michelle told us much about the process that lead her to become a writer, not only a change in life but a change in location as well. Many listeners joined the show asking Michelle questions about her writing style and how she develops the story. Michelle was not only able to share with the listeners but also made a point of encouraging any would be authors out there.

With her second book "Guardian of the Gate" due out in August, and the draft of the third and final part of the trilogy now completed, there is much more yet to come from this author who has even been compared to Henry James.

As normal the show went by way to quick, an hour of entertainment covering many items that will be of interest to all ages.

YA Month - "A Book and a Chat with Tirzah (Compulsive Reader Blog)"

January is YA Radio month on A Book and a Chat, with special guest throughout the month, not only authors but bloggers as well.

My guest on today's YA MONTH - "A Book and a Chat" was one of the YA bloggers I call the Sham-wow of Young Adult LiteratureTirzah who writes in the blog "The Compulsive Reader".

The show as normal was full of interest and entertainment and Tirzah shared with us how her love of reading had lead her to produce not only her blog, but reviews and book trailers amongst other items. In fact there seems no stopping her. With over a thousand book, I'm sure she'll have her own library soon.

Many interesting questions were put to Tirzah from people in the chat room, to which she supplied some really interesting answers.

During the show we learned about her favorite books both ones she reads as "comfort books" as well as sharing with us not only her most enjoyed books of 2009 along with some she is looking forward to reading in 2010. We also found out that Tirzah would have loved to have been around in the early twentieth century, chaining herself to railings and shouting "votes for women".
