A Book and a Chat with Jason M Alster

From trips to Israel to Natural Solutions For ADHD , Dyslexia , and Test Anxiety, throw in a book on creative painting for the young artist and a video on how to improve your handwriting and you have a snap shot of Jason M Alster, my guest on today’s “A Book and a Chat”.

With so much to cover it was a case of where to start with Jason. Like many children or your people he was told, he would never come to much, be a steady “B” student rather and an “A”, never get anywhere with his writing or his art. This was a challenge to Jason like the hero in “The Hobbit” Jason set out not only on his travels but to prove the “Nay Sayers” wrong.

His book "Leaving Home, Going Home, Returning Home" is a mosaic of vivid snapshots that clearly exhibits a remarkable insight into the heterogeneous and dynamic culture of Israel, while at the same time conveying to the reader the nuances of feelings, as well as the harshness of reality. And for anyone contemplating learning about life or even visiting Israel, this is a must read.

From this great book we followed Jason through his “Creative Painting For The Young Artist”.

A self help book for the young person who wants to choose art as a subject or the youngster who thinks art is not for him. This book shows the steps one needs to be a creative artist early on. It includes how to get over artist block, develop and artist statement, how to choose a subject to paint, develop an artist's mode of seeing, develop a composition, relaxation exercises for the young artist, art self critique and self promotion.

From there our discussion in today’s program moved to “Being In Control: Natural Solutions for ADHD, Dyslexia Dysgraphia, and Test Anxiety”. A book about natural techniques for improving relaxed concentration in the classroom and at home. Includes study strategies, creativity, personal achievement, all in a graphic picture mode.

As I said at the start with Jason it was a case of where to start and as the show shared, it’s not over yet for this talented writer.
