A Book and a Chat with Tina Field Howe

Along my 550 shows I have got to know many authors, some I have even met. However today’s guest Tine Field Howe I have not only met, but joined in her audio show narrating some of the characters during an “open to the public” sample of her award winning audio book taken from the “The Tellings of Xunar-kun Series!”.

I first came across this multi-creative lady with her children book “Snails-worth” which both my children loved. It was interesting to hear during the show that this book has now also been made into an audio, with several of the cast from the “The Tellings of Xunar-kun Series!”, taking roles in the Snails-worth audio.

From Snails-worth I was captivated by the first in the Xunar-kun “Alysa of the Fields”  which received many rave reviews and awards and was soon followed by book two “The TrailFolk of Xunar-ku” which again won the multi-talented Tina many awards an plaudits.

Book three of the series we learned is now in the design stage, having taken somewhat of a back seat as Tina has moved into Screen writing again creating several items ranging from a Romantic/Thriller to a horror movie score.

It would seem no matter what this talented lady turns her hand to, success is never far away.

About Alysa of the Fields (Also and award winning audio book)

Hidden deep in the mountains of planet Xunar-kun, the Field Folk clan believed themselves to be the only remaining people, other than the distant Trailmen, to inhabit their warn-torn world. They were wrong. In coming to realize her individuality, Alysa—a young woman of the Folk—risks all to save her people from certain peril. As a result, long-hidden truths are revealed, age-old hatreds are healed, and Alysa leads her people to a new way of life.

About The TrailFolk of Xunar-ku

It is four cycles later. The Folk and Trailmen have accepted that they are part of something greater than themselves. They have come together as “the Seekers”. Their purpose: to find the true Parents of the Orphans. But they find something much more insidious and more lethal than any threat they have faced before.

As one reviewer wrote about the audio book…

Alysa of the Fields, by Tina Field Howe, has already been hailed as a magical fantasy masterpiece. Now the author has taken her story to a new level, creating a mesmerizing innovation that will have an enlightening impact on the world of audio books.

Well now that Tina is hitting the big screen trail, who knows what other masterpieces we will be able to enjoy from Tina Field Howe.

A Book and a Chat with Tina Field Howe

Creativity comes in many forms, my guest today Tina Field Howe knows all about the many forms that creativity can show itself.

On previous visits to "A Book and a Chat" Tina we have discussed her work from freelance communications designing, through children's stories (“Snailsworth, a slow little story”.. .one of my kids favourites).

We have hearchatted abouther award winning Fantasy series, “Tellings of Xunar-kun”.

I’ve met, chatted and interviewed Tina and the cast of her award winning audio version of “Alysa of the Fields”, so what creativity is Tina working on now?

As we heard during an entertaining show, she is once more embarking on several new aspects of creativity, working on fresh screen writing, and using her experience gained in developing the audio book to create “SkyRider Sound

What Tina says about SkyRider Sound:

The production of the Alysa of the Fields audio book was an amazing journey. This two-year undertaking was not an easy task, but it was one of the best learning experiences. Not only was it my directorial debut; I acquired valuable sound recording, editing, and audio publishing experience that I will continue to develop.

Also, since some good relationships were formed with many of the actors, I desired to continue working with them on future projects. Therefore I have founded SkyRider Sound, a custom sound company that will continue to produce audio books for my work as well as that of other authors.

SkyRider showcases voice talent and musicians who are involved so far. I have many more interested and will add their photos, bios and clips once I receive them. In addition to voice, scene and music clips, there are also some funky sci-fi creature sounds posted on the site which were created exclusively for the Alysa audio book and that you might not have noticed in the background.

As well as this, Tina is developing a monthly news letter, where she is able to share the creative knowledge gained on so many levels, not only in writing, audio work etc as well as sharing her passion for writing with readers, writers and writers-to-be. You can find out more about this news letter and all the other items at www.AlysaBooks.com

With the third book underway, working on voiceover and other new ventures, Tina Field Howe certainly knows about creativity.

So sit back and listen to today's thoroughly interesting and entertaining show as I host today's "A Book and a Chat with Tina Field Howe".

A Book and a Chat with Tina Field Howe

Corning in the past has been famous for its glass ware, but after October 16th all that will change, as that is the launch date for the now “award winning” audio book of "Alysa of the Fields".

My guest today “Tina Field Howe” was the guest on one of the earliest “A Book and a Chat” shows where she shared with us, not only about herself and her children book, but also then her latest release the first two book in the Xunar-Kun series. At the time we chatted about how she had one a grant to produce the first book as an audio book.

Since that time, both Tina and the wonderful cast who appear in the audio book have appeared on the show, and I also made the trip to Corning last December to meet the cast and take part in the first public presentation of the audio.

Now the final version of “Alysa of the Fields Audio Book” celebrates its launch on October 16th, where it all started in Corning NY. I might add this will be a great gift for people of any ages!

As normal chatting with Tina is not only enjoyable but a pleasure, learning about the way the book has grown into this final article. Not just a final article but an award winning final article.

As Tina shared with us, she will be attending a banquet in Las Vegas on November 6th, where "Alysa of the Fields Audio Book" will receive the 2010 Readers Favorite Gold in the Audio Book category.

Not only that but the second book in the series, “The TrailFolk of Xunar-kun” has won the Silver in the Sci-fi/Fantasy Book Category!

So sit back and enjoy a wonderful thrity minutes as we get the latest new about Tina and "Alysa of the Fields Audio Book" on a "Book and a Chat with Tina Field Howe".

A Book and a Chat with "Tina Field Howe and Friends"

Back on August the first my show guest was Tina Field Howe, she is a lady of "so many hats" that the thirty minutes we chatted for only scratched the surface of this multi-talented lady.

One of the items that we discussed last time was the fact that Tina had received a grant from "The Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes" to turn her first book it an audio book. One stipulation of the grant was that she had to put on a performance of the show/audio before the end of the year. To this end there is a performance being put on during the "Sparkle Festival" in Corning at Soul Full Cup, 81 W. Market St., Corning, NY on Saturday, December 5, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Listen to the show and hear how Tina and her audio book has developed, not only that but her second book "The Trail Folk of Xunar-kun" has been won first place in ", he Trail Folk of Xunar-kun,"

I was lucky enough during this one hour special not only to speak to Tina, but also some of the actors and actresses who will be playing the parts in the audio book.

Several of the characters join in, including, Alison Chen, Tonery Rose Rogers and David Scott to name but a few. David might be better known for his "literal video version" version of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" on youtube has almost 5 million hits

So why not sit and enjoy a fun hour as I chat with Tina Field Howe and members of the cast of her audio version of "Alysa of the Fields" we even get an insite into her next possible audio book her children's book "Snailsworth".

the show is a fun sixty minutes for all to enjoy.
